Fuku Ramen

The concept of this high-end Japanese restaurant in Amsterdam aims to give proper value to the complex processes that involve the food served.

By demolishing former walls, the new layout creates a close connection between the chef and the guests.

The long concrete bar is the feature element of this restaurant, where people sit to watch their food being carefully crafted. Around the bar, the other tables are intended for more intimate, eye-to-eye experiences between guests – although every table can see the chef working.

The choice of natural, secondhand materials and a sober color palette was also based on this concept where beauty and authenticity come from elevating the neglected and perfecting the imperfect.
