pantopia hotel
Our office was hired to develop feasibility studies for the Pantopia Hotel, a complex conceived as a subtle yet contrasting intervention in Lampedusa’s rugged Mediterranean landscape.
The project includes 10 independent units of 56 m² and a small building for hotel management. Rather than enclosed volumes, the units are shaped by walls that intersect and overlap, defining spaces, circulation, and privacy while blurring the boundary between interior and exterior.
Materials—stone, whitewashed surfaces, and warm timber—reflect the island’s vernacular with a modern, minimalist touch. The management building follows the same vocabulary of intersecting planes, ensuring a cohesive architectural language.
The design prioritizes experience over form, guiding guests through spaces that unfold gradually, offering moments of openness, enclosure, and interplay between light, shadow, and material. The architecture becomes a subtle extension of Lampedusa’s natural beauty.
